Capacitive sense technology works by creating an electrical connection between a sensor in the printed circuit and a finger, through a protective dielectric material. It is an increasingly popular technology in Internet kiosks, industrial applications, security and access control, front-panel displays, cellular phones and media control applications.
A big advantage is the top graphic overlay can be designed by the customer and printed on paper or plastic up to 0.15 mm thick (See image).
We provide complete assembled and tested printed circuit boards with 12, 16 or 20 sensors for the same number of keys in the following configurations:
3 columns X 4 rows, 4 columns X 4 rows and 5 columns X 4 rows respectively.
Also included is a kit with one 2 mm transparent acrylic protective sheet, one special 3M® adhesive sheet and a rear mount black plastic frame.
LED backlight, serial and parallel interfaces are available. Please contact us for detailed specifications and requirements.
